Is your fire energy trying to express itself as the dryness of the Autumn season settles?

Let’s explore the interconnectedness of  the elements and the seasons.

In the Summer we accumulated Fire

In the Autumn we begin to accumulate Air

Think of the energies of these two elements; they are both mobile and light. 

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms:

Inflammation, irritability, nausea, headaches, eye sensitivities, restlessness, diarrhea, explosive energy, heartburn, vertigo, laryngitis, vomiting, blood issues, rashess, infections etc.- your fire element is trying to exit the body.

But have no fear my fiery ones here’s how to balance:

  • try not to judge your body or mind, you will feel better soon

  • head over to your local health food store and get yourself some Amla and Bacopa 

  • and some aloe vera juice

  • also lavender, rose or sandalwood to soothe to cool the mind

  • enjoy an evening stroll under the moonshine and avoid the midday sun 12pm-3pm

  • give yourself a tender loving self care massage with coconut oil

  • spray rosewater on your face and be kind to yourself 

  • cover your eyelids with rose petals or cucumbers and take some deep sitali breaths 

  • add a few drops of ghee to your eyes before bedtime and listen to a Yoga Nidra to reduce stress 

  • take a break from the hustle and the screens (which also increase the fire element)

  • Soak in a  lavender bath with soothing music put your duties on hold for 30 mins 

  • opt for mostly sweet, bitter and astringent foods and avoid spicy and rich food 

  • carbonated, fermented and caffeinated drinks amplify the heat- reduce or avoid

  • delegate your duties and responsibilities wherever you can i.e. hire help 

  • jicama, cucumber, avocado, cilantro with lime and coriander powder are perfect for you- eat a pitta pacifying diet and do not skip meals

  • avoid greasy and rich savory foods; include simple plain meals until you feel better

  • eat ripe juicy fruits early in the morning

  • hydrate well, include coconut water and coconut milk 

  • forgive yourself for the things you say when you are fiery 

  • you are a child of the cosmic mother and father

  • you are held in divine love

  • be patient with yourself 

  • take a walk on the beach at night, I’ll come with you if you want 

Remember to eat seasonally and fresh and to have patience with yourself. We are all figuring this human reality out one day at a time.
